Products and cartons sent to the warehouse require a specific labelling format to avoid any unnecessary errors or delays in shelving the product. Products coming to the warehouse should have at least one barcode in the form of Merchant SKU, EZY-SKU or Product ID (EAN/ISBN/UPC/JAN).

Product and box labels will be available for printing after you create a Shipment. Choose from one of the available label templates and proceed to download the PDF.

Product labeling

Every unit sent to the EZC centre must have a scannable EZY barcode. If you wish the warehouse to label for you, one form of product identifier with barcode is a must (like EAN, Merchant SKU) and this information should be present during product creation. Please see the Packaging best practices as some categories have specific packing procedure.

Label Specification

  • All labels must be white.
  • The EZY-SKU labels must be generated from EZC platform.
  • The standard size of labels used is 3” x 1.5” (63.5 mm x 38.1 mm). Other label sizes – 2” x 1” (50.8 mm x 25.4 mm) and custom labels between this range is allowed as long as all the necessary information is present.
  • Minimum font size – 12 pt

Labeling Guidelines

  • The EZY label should be visible on the outside and readily scannable. Any other barcode like UPC or EAN must be covered from view.
  • EZY labels should not be pasted directly on the product
  • Small or round objects that cannot accommodate the labels should not be wrapped as this won’t be picked by a barcode reader. The product must be placed in a plastic bag and the bag must be labelled.
  • The barcode should not be smudged or faded and be readable for at least 24 months
  • To ensure that the label is readable for a long time please use a laser printer, laser paper and a laser toner with a minimum print resolution of 300 DPI.
  • QR barcode is not allowed
  • It is highly recommended that the barcodes be tested / scanned prior to shipping.

Box labeling

Each box / carton must contain only one Shipment label pertaining to one Shipment ID. The Shipping label is created during the Shipment creation process. Products from multiple Shipment ID must not be present in one box / carton. No product / item labels must be present on the box / carton.

Labeling Guidelines

  • The EZC Shipment label should be visible on the outside and readily scannable. Any other labels previously used must be removed or covered from view.
  • QR barcode is not allowed
  • It is highly recommended that the barcodes be tested / scanned prior to shipping
  • The position of the shipment label should be on the top left of the longest side of the carton / box.
  • The carrier label must on the top right end on the same side as the Shipment label.
  • The labels should be removable adhesives and must not wrap around the edges.
  • In case of cartons being smaller than the label height, the label should be wrapped from the top surface to the longest side. In any case, the barcode should be on a flat side and must not be wrapped along the seam of the box. If the height of the box cannot accommodate the barcode then the label must be pasted on the top surface of the box where it is sealed. This scenario must be avoided unless there are dimensional restrictions.
  • The labels must be at least 1” (25.4 mm) from the top and side edges of the box.
